Main areas of teaching and research are Environmental law and Public Interest Law Litigation. He was an associate researcher at Harvard University in USA. He has led and participated in various competitive research projects and published in these areas. At present, he is the Coordinator of a Research Project about “The role of citizen and courts in climate litigation” (IDP-UB) and some last publications are “The international dimension of the EU on access to justice in environmental matters”, a Campins, Mar (ed.), The EU and Global Environmental Protection: Transforming Influence into Action, Routledge, 2021, pp. 90-108 and “The role of citizens and NGOs in climate litigation at national level” in Campins, Mar (ed.), Understanding vulnerability in the context of climate change, Atelier, Barcelona, 2022, pp. 49-64
He is member of different Public and Environmental Law organizations such as Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide (ELAW), IUCN Academy of Environmental Law, Spanish Observatory of Environmental Policies where he is co-responsible for “access to justice in environmental matters”, Public Law Institute (IDP-UB). Member of the editorial board of Suprem Court Case Law in the Revista de Administración Pública. He has been a lawyer for environmental public interested litigation and he cofounded the NGO Fons de Defensa Ambiental in 2004.
